Roundup Rodeo BBQ Gluten Free Review 2025

Roundup Rodeo BBQ Gluten Free Review

If you’re looking to eat gluten free at Hollywood Studios, the Roundup Rodeo BBQ gluten-free menu offers some of the best options in the park. The food selection is extensive, and the themed environment is immersive. For Toy Story fans, this is a unique dining experience you won’t get anywhere else.

We were excited to try this meal. Of all the dining options at the Disney parks and resorts, Roundup Rodeo BBQ looked like the most fun and best themed. It has that same immersive Disney feel I loved while touring the Value Resorts.

When I checked the Roundup Rodeo BBQ allergy-friendly menu online, I was impressed by the gluten-free selection. With a wide variety of meats, this meal seemed worth making time for a table service meal on a park day.

During our latest trip, we also tried the gluten-free options at two other table-service restaurants: ‘Ohana (read that review here) and Hollywood and Vine’s Disney Junior Play n’ Dine Breakfast (review here). If you’re wondering where else to eat gluten free at the resorts and parks, check out my full Disney Gluten Free Restaurants Review.

Here’s my Roundup Rodeo BBQ review—gluten free edition.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ is located at Hollywood Studios just past the main Toy Story Land entrance, on the right before Slinky Dog Dash.

While there is sometimes walk-up availability, this is a popular spot so reservations are recommended. Like all Disney table service restaurants, there’s a cancellation policy—cancel at least two hours before your reservation or you’ll be charged $10 per person.

The Roundup Rodeo BBQ menu is the same for both lunch and dinner, served from 10:45 AM to 9:00 PM. Expect to spend about an hour here.

The cost for lunch or dinner at Roundup Rodeo BBQ is $49 for ages 10 and up and $27 for kids ages 3–9, or one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ is not a character dining experience. Despite there being no live characters, this dining experience is one of the most immersive in the parks. It’s like you’re shrunk down, hiding under Andy’s bed with the other toys.

Atmosphere/Theming

Atmosphere and Theming

As with the rest of Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ uses oversized props to make you feel like you’re one of Andy’s toys. Even the entrance features Andy’s handmade drawings of Woody’s Roundup. Inside the red barn doors, cast members offer guests stick ponies to “ride” to their table.

Set up like one of Andy’s pretend play scenes, the walls are covered in props and drawings, with a mix of 2D cardboard cutouts and 3D objects. It’s very dark inside—making it hard to get good photos.

The tables and chairs are brightly colored, and bench seating helps divide the space into two sections. The first dining area features a 3D Jessie and Trixie, while the second has Bo Peep and her sheep. A 2D Woody and Bullseye separate the two areas.

Throughout the meal, you’ll hear themed audio, including the announcement “Andy’s coming,” which causes everyone—including cast members—to freeze.

Our Roundup Rodeo BBQ Gluten Free Review

Planning for Roundup Rodeo BBQ

We had a great experience dining gluten free at Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Even without characters, this was my favorite table service meal of our trip.

We arrived shortly before our reservation and checked in through the app. Our wait was less than five minutes. A cast member offered us all stick horses, but we skipped them to focus on taking in the atmosphere.

We sat in the second dining area near Bo Peep. Due to the dim lighting, it was hard to get good photos or videos. But there’s so much to look at, the wait for food didn’t feel long.

The restaurant was busy and loud, but fun background music helped buffer the noise. Brie wore her earplugs and didn’t ask for headphones. While the sights and sounds could be overwhelming for some autistic kids, she was fine with it.

Brie and I are both gluten free; Zen is not.

A copy of the allergy-friendly menu was provided, but I was already familiar with the gluten free options from planning online. I was hoping for a gluten free version of the Slinky Dog Mac & Cheese, but they didn’t have one—even though gluten-free mac and cheese is available elsewhere in Disney. Zen had no interest in the mac and cheese, so we skipped it. Everything else (except the cheddar biscuits for Zen) were brought out gluten free for the table.

The first items brought out were the gluten-free buns, tomato salad, and watermelon.

The gluten-free buns were decent for being gluten free. I liked them with the sweet pepper jelly (which has a bit of a kick to it), but the kids didn’t care for it. The tomato salad was simple but good. I liked it but Brie won’t eat tomatoes and Zen didn’t find it too appealing so they passed on it, and filled up on the watermelon and buns.

The main course came shortly after we finished the first, with the meats on one large platter and the sides in separate bowls.

We had no complaints about any of the meats. The ribs had good flavor—better than the ones we tried from Trail’s End at Fort Wilderness.  The brisket was my favorite. The sausage was Zen’s favorite, and the BBQ chicken was Brie’s.  I thought both were just okay.

The sides were also good. The coleslaw was just okay, but I was the only one who tried it. Brie loved the Potato Barrels. The corn was the standout and Zen’s top pick. At first, I wasn’t sure the portion of meat would be enough for the three of us, but it was. We didn’t need to request more of anything.

For dessert, I was the only one able to finish. Brie tried a few bites of hers but then put it down because she was too full, and Zen didn’t even order one. Brie and I both ordered Bo’s Lemon and Blueberry Cheesecake.  I’m usually not big on lemon-flavoured desserts, but I love cheesecake. It did have a strong lemon flavor, but it was good.

Is Gluten Free at Roundup Rodeo BBQ Worth It?

Is Gluten Free at Roundup Rodeo BBQ Worth It

If you’re looking for gluten free at Hollywood Studios, this is one of the best options. The food is great, and the variety of meats alone justifies the Roundup Rodeo BBQ prices—especially compared to other table service meals.  For those with celiac or gluten sensitivity, Roundup Rodeo BBQ is one of the best choices in the park. The all-you-can-eat served family-style model makes it safer than traditional buffets.

Gluten free at Hollywood Studios can be hit or miss—but this one hits. Roundup Rodeo BBQ gluten free dining is absolutely worth it.
