Introducing Mama’s on Vacation

Mama's on Vacation

Starting a travel blog has been on my to-do list for a while.

Two years ago, I quit my job to work towards becoming a full-time blogger. I spent the first year learning with a practice blog on Blogspot while taking online courses and researching.

For the last year, my focus has been on getting my first blog up and running.  But I have also been taking notes, and getting pictures, on every trip I’ve been on since I decided to start blogging too.

After our trip to Niagara Falls this past September, I wrote out a Complete Guide to Great Wolf Lodge and decided it was time to start planning for my travel blog.

Then at the beginning of March, after a one-night getaway to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, I came home and started writing about all the attractions we visited.  Five blog posts later, I decided it was time to get the travel blog ball rolling and I purchased this website.

Two days later, the pandemic was announced.

Crappy timing, right?

Obviously, launching a travel blog while every tourist attraction I would be writing about is closed won’t make much sense.

Luckily, one thing I have learned from traveling with kids is how to be adaptable.

While I won’t be able to write about (or go on) that trip to Kalahari Resort I had hoped to plan for the summer, there are still vacations I can plan and write about right now.

Virtual vacations that is.

So, despite worldwide closures of popular travel destinations, I am starting my travel blog.

If you’re looking for some virtual field trip ideas, destinations with virtual tours, tips on how to take a virtual vacation, or ideas on how to make a virtual vacation more fun and interactive for kids, follow me on Facebook.
